Job summary

Trafigura is seeking a highly skilled technologist to own the end-to-end development of web applications, workflows, and automation in a North America IT team. You will leverage AI tooling (Claude Code/Cowork) across the software lifecycle and connect solutions to systems via MCP servers and APIs.

You will work in a fast-paced trading environment, with strong emphasis on integrating data, optimizing performance, and collaborating with end users to support the full trading cycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on development across the full stack.
• 4+ years in a technical lead role.
• Experience designing, building, and consuming APIs (REST/GraphQL).
• Solid server-side programming with C#, Python, or Java.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab).
• Experience with AI tooling and agent extensions (Claude Code/Cowork).
• Experience in commodities trading or related industries.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end development of web applications, workflows, and automation solutions.
• Design architecture for web apps, workflows, or AI agents to integrate with systems.
• Collaborate with analysts to translate requirements into technical specs.
• Build and maintain integrations connecting solutions to data and systems (MCP servers).
• Scale deployments with IT teams to meet performance needs and business growth.
• Investigate high-severity issues and identify root causes with effective fixes.
• Lead technical initiatives and contribute to architecture reviews.
