Job summary

Elastic.co seeks a Technical Lead to drive frontend and backend development and infrastructure for our flagship website. You’ll collaborate with a distributed team of designers, frontend developers, and full-stack engineers to deliver outstanding UI, scalable data integrations, and dependable web services.

You will champion frontend and backend best practices, lead API design, and ensure security, performance, and accessibility across web experiences.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in front and backend web development with modern JavaScript frameworks and scalable web apps/APIs.
• 3+ years as a senior technical contributor or technical lead in collaborative environments.
• Deep expertise in NextJS, React, and TypeScript.
• Deep experience with content management systems, headless CMS architectures, and content delivery workflows.
• Strong understanding of frontend testing methodologies and quality assurance processes.
• Experience with frontend accessibility standards and implementation.
• Practical experience managing cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Knowledge of search technologies and data indexing/retrieval systems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with and guide a remote team of frontend and full-stack engineers via code reviews and knowledge sharing.
• Drive frontend architecture vision with NextJS and TypeScript; shape backend services and data pipelines.
• Lead API design for dynamic web experiences and ensure scalable, secure services.
• Establish and maintain quality standards, testing processes, and code reviews.
• Champion backend performance, observability, and reliability across services.
• Lead frontend performance optimizations and accessibility across experiences.
• Collaborate with other teams to deliver cohesive user experiences and plan technically.
