Job summary

Hitachi Digital Services in Reading, PA is seeking a Technical Lead for Cloud & Data Engineering to own the end-to-end design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise applications while staying hands-on.

You will lead an offshore development team in India, mentor engineers, drive sprint execution, and align technology investments with business priorities using modern AI-assisted practices and AWS cloud-native architectures.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, and technical leadership.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
• Advanced experience with MS SQL Server, including database design, performance tuning, and stored procedures.
• Proficiency in Angular and modern TypeScript-based front-end development.
• Experience with AWS cloud services, cloud-native architectures, and AI-enabled application development.
• Hands-on knowledge of Agentic AI frameworks, LLM integrations, and AI-driven engineering practices.
• Expertise with GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, and developer productivity tools.
• Experience with Bamboo, Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practices.
• Proven success leading and coordinating offshore development teams in India.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, and client-facing leadership skills.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with business objectives and delivery commitments.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments; AWS or Java certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end design, architecture, and delivery of enterprise applications while remaining hands-on with development.
• Lead an offshore development team in India, drive sprint execution, and mentor engineers.
• Oversee code quality, manage risks, and ensure successful delivery across multiple initiatives.
• Communicate with clients and executive stakeholders, providing project updates.
• Champion modern engineering practices using GitHub Copilot, prompt engineering, and AI-assisted development tools, and design AI solutions on AWS.
