Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking a senior QA professional to lead test planning, design comprehensive test cases, and drive test automation within Scrum teams in Addison, TX. You will ensure acceptance criteria clarity, optimize data handling, and manage traceability across the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed, comprehensive test cases based on requirements.
• Lead test planning at team level and ensure acceptance criteria are clear.
• Identify automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable types.
• Prepare and generate test data while ensuring data compliance.
• Execute test cases (manual and automated) and report defects with context.
• Maintain and catalog test suites across Smoke, Integration, and Regression.

Job Description

Key responsibilities include developing detailed, comprehensive, and well‑structured test cases based on functional, non‑functional, and compliance requirements; leading test planning at a team level; ensuring stories are well refined and contain clear acceptance criteria within Scrum teams; identifying in‑scope and out‑of‑scope items during test planning; implementing the test framework for the team; leading test case reviews and collaborating with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure test coverage; identifying automation opportunities and developing test automation for applicable test types; preparing and generating test data, ensuring data compliance, and managing sensitive test data; executing test cases, both manual and automated, and recording test results; reporting issues and defects with appropriate background information; participating in triage of reported issues and defects and assisting with resolution or escalation; creating and managing traceability across the development lifecycle; using testing tools and processes to complete testing in test environments; and maintaining and cataloguing test suites across test types (Smoke, Integration, Regression).

Required Skills

• Basic knowledge and familiarity with qTest, Jira, Toad (or any other similar DB viewer)
• Demonstrable understanding of SQL queries and the ability to manipulate data
• Ability to design and develop manual and automated test plans within an application
• Basic knowledge of automation and continuous delivery practices
• Demonstrates working knowledge of Agile/Waterfall frameworks

Desired Skills

• Familiarity with automation testing tools like Cypress
• Demonstrable understanding of JavaScript
