Title: Technical Lab - Lab Assistant

Location: Irving, TX

Duration: 3 Months

Shift/Time Zone: Tuesday - Saturday 1:00 AM - 9:30 AM

Job Description: OB SUMMARY:
  • Perform routine laboratory functions accurately to assist staff and facilitate production.
Job Requirements:
  • Sorting and receiving specimens.
  • Routine instrument maintenance.
  • Centrifuging specimens, printing labels, recording data, specimen storage and retrieval.
  • Preparing reagents/media.
  • Preparing specimens for testing: building worklists, aliquoting, checking for clots, inoculation, slide prep.
  • Performing QA/QC duties.
  • Resolving pending lists and finding missing samples.
  • Decontaminating work areas and performing weekly radioactive wipe tests.
  • Maintaining records, changing gas cylinders, following PPE and safety regulations.
  • Using laboratory computer systems and disposing of biohazard materials.
  • Completing training and competency checklists.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; medical assistant training helpful; math and science courses preferred.
Work Experience:

None required

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
