Power Design, Inc. is seeking a Plumbing expert to translate field experience into people development. As a Technical Plumbing Trainer you will lead hands-on training in our facilities, mentor apprentices, and support the growth of field and office teams.

You will design content, evaluate skills, and partner with SMEs to drive program effectiveness, while engaging with industry groups and representing the company in the community.

Qualifications

  • Active Plumbing license or eligible to obtain license in Florida.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in commercial plumbing construction.
  • Ability to lead training and mentor apprentices.

Responsabilités

  • Deliver in-person plumbing training to apprentices and employees.
  • Teach plumbing best practices, installation standards, safety, and procedures.
  • Conduct skill evaluations for new hires and internal promotions.
  • Mentor apprentices through classroom instruction, lab-based learning, and coaching.
  • Design, develop, and maintain training content, lesson plans, job aids, and assessments.

Power Design is looking for a Plumbing expert who wants to take their field experience and use it to develop people — not just projects. In this role, you’ll lead hands‑on technical training in our state‑of‑the‑art training facilities, mentor apprentices, and support the technical growth of our field and office employees across the Plumbing scope. You will also conduct technical skill evaluations for new hires and internal promotions, helping ensure that our field talent is placed confidently and successfully on projects. As a Technical Plumbing Trainer, you will play a key role in strengthening field capability, ensuring consistent installation quality, and shaping the next generation of Plumbing professionals at Power Design. Position Details / Responsibilities
  • Deliver in-person, hands‑on plumbing technical training to apprentices, field employees, and office employees (primarily in our training facilities and occasionally on active job sites).
  • Teach Power Design Plumbing Best Practices, installation standards, safety expectations, and field procedures.
  • Conduct technical evaluations for new hires and internal promotion candidates to assess skill level and field readiness.
  • Mentor apprentices throughout their development, including classroom instruction, lab‑based learning, and coaching.
  • Design, develop, and maintain training content, lesson plans, job aids, and assessments that align with project requirements and evolving mechanical codes.
  • Partner with subject matter experts and field leaders to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with apprenticeship partners and industry organizations (e.g., ABC, NCCER chapters, or similar plumbing trade programs).
  • Represent Power Design in the community by supporting trade advocacy, recruiting, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
Here’s What We’re Looking For
  • Active Plumbing license (or meets all requirements to obtain applicable licensure in Florida).
  • 5+ years of hands‑on experience working in commercial plumbing construction (multifamily/high‑rise strongly preferred).
  • Well‑rounded plumbing system installation.
  • Supervisory experience in managing and mentoring crews preferred.
  • Knowledge of plumbing systems and installation practices is a plus.
  • Passion for teaching and the ability to break down complex technical concepts into practical, clear instructions.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills; comfortable speaking to groups and coaching one‑on‑one.
  • Excellent organization and planning abilities with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience training others (classroom or hands‑on) preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to occasionally adjust work hours to support training needs.
  • Bilingual abilities a plus.
