Responsibilities will include understanding the customers’ application and recommending products and solutions for their needs. The person in this role should be knowledgeable about our competing products and should have the ability to break down technical terminology to non-technical clients. To be a successful Technical Inside Sales Representative, you should be able to develop an excellent rapport with existing customers, source new clients, and work closely with our vendors.Exciting work you will do:The essential duties and responsibilities of the Technical Inside Sales Representative position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customersRespond promptly to customer inquiriesCommunicate with customers and vendors through various channelsUnderstand the technical needs of the customer and suggesting appropriate products and servicesExplain complex technical information to customers in a way that is easily understandableFollow up with customers and resolve any issues that may ariseEngage in product training and development of new and existing team membersUnderstand P&ID drawings and specificationsProduct line champion for assigned productsStay current on new and evolving product offerings; utilize knowledge in selling activitiesManage vendor relationships and maintain our internal database with pricing and sales informationKeep customers and colleagues informed about new technological productsCompile proposals and reports related to technical productsUpdate records of customer communication and contact informationProcess orders, quotes, and requests occasionallyCommunicate and coordinate with colleagues, as necessaryMake outbound calls to potential customers and following up and quotes and leadsUnderstand customers’ needs and identifying sales opportunitiesAnswer customers’ questions and send additional informationMaintain a database of current and potential customersUpsell products and servicesClose sales and achieving sales targetsOccasional travel to branches or to business-related functions such as training or seminarsPerform other duties and projects as assignedCompetencies you possess:Service ExcellenceResults, Action OrientedAccountability and ResponsibilityUnderstanding Others, ListeningProblem SolvingTeamwork and collaborationPriority SettingWhat you’ll need:Work Experience: 3 years’ of industrial sales experienceEducation: Bachelor’s or technical degree or equivalent combination of skills and experienceAnalytical/Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to read, analyze and interpret technical documents and bid specificationsOrganization Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to multi-task and shift priorities as needed; ability to work in a fast-paced, continuously evolving environmentCross-functional skills: Ability to work well cross-functionally; provides excellent internal and external customer serviceCommunication Skills: Strong interpersonal communications, problem solving, organizational and written/verbal communication skillsPhysical, Mental and Visual Skills: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
