Job summary

Brown Technologies Incorporated in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Technical Illustrator to join our team. You will produce complex computer-generated illustrations for Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) and ensure compliance with military standards.

You will collaborate with engineers, technologists, and editors, use Arbortext and IsoDraw, and manage publication catalogs while supporting publication quality and timely delivery for mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor degree in Technical Illustrating, Graphic Design or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as Graphic Illustrator using Adobe InDesign.
• Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
• Ability to understand engineering drawings and bills of materials.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent and quality support to the Directorate and its customers, stakeholders, in the pursuit of meeting the Mission and Goals of the Utility Helicopters Project Office Directorate.
• Consult with technical team leads, Engineer Technicians, Previsioning, Tech‑Writers, and other subject matter experts’ teams’ members to ensure common understanding of publications and related graphics format files for a particular Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) that are compatible with Military standard requirements for technical manuals.
• Assist in maintaining cataloging systems, records, files, electronic media and archiving information for publications of aircraft illustrations.
• Functional computer literacy with specific proficiency in Arbortext, IsoDraw, or equivalent.
• Must have the ability to effectively communicate and work with Project Manager, teammates and client.
• Must be able to shift work priorities and function with minimal supervision.
• Works under general direction to produce complex computer‑generated illustrations and graphics for Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM).
