Job summary

Crescendo Solutions LLC is seeking a Junior Technical Illustrator to support U.S. Department of Defense documentation programs. The role develops 2D illustrations, exploded views, and schematics for IETMs while adhering to CGM and S1000D rules.

You will work under a Senior Illustrator or Publications Lead, converting engineering data into compliant art and ensuring consistency across data modules. A DoD security clearance is a preferred qualification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, illustration, engineering technology, or related field, or equivalent portfolio.
• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience producing technical illustrations.
• Proficiency with vector authoring tools: Illustrator, IsoDraw, Creo Illustrate.

Responsibilities

• Produce 2D technical illustrations, exploded views, schematics, and call-out diagrams.
• Apply CGM authoring standards and S1000D rules to all art delivered.
• Maintain consistency in line weights, labeling, and callouts across modules.
• Convert legacy raster artwork to vector formats for IETM viewing.
• Coordinate with Technical Writers and Senior Illustrators to align with text and BREX rules.
• Apply revision/change-tracking practices as required by the customer environment.
• Use Illustrator, IsoDraw, Creo Illustrate, or equivalent tools as directed.
