Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories is seeking a Year Round Technical Graduate Intern in the III-V Photonics & HI Sensors group in New Mexico. You will design, fabricate, and test chip-scale piezoelectric and magnetic devices for RF signal processing while collaborating with a team of researchers.

The role requires onsite work and offers exposure to advanced cleanroom fabrication and RF measurement equipment. Ideal candidates are graduate students in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Materials

Qualifications

  • Earned bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Full-time enrollment in a related accredited graduate program.
  • Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
  • Ability to work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year and 40 hours in summer.
  • U.S. citizens, permanent residents, asylees or refugees in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design, fabricate, and characterize chip-scale piezoelectric phononic devices for RF signal processing.
  • Apply knowledge to fundamental studies of piezoelectric and magnetic microsystems.
  • Conduct research and publish results.
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to solve problems.
