Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Albuquerque seeks a summer engineer intern for the Advanced RF and Electronic Systems Group. The role focuses on RF circuit design, antenna design, mechanical design, waveform concepts, and software development for research, development, and testing of advanced digital communications signaling devices.

You will support RF system development across VHF–EHF, contribute to RF circuits and antennas, assist with mechanical assemblies, develop software for

Qualifications

• Enrolled full-time in the spring term immediately preceding the internship (or graduating in spring).
• Pursuing a science, engineering, or math major.
• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0.
• Ability to work up to 40 hours per week during the summer.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support the development of advanced RF systems across VHF–EHF for real-world applications.
• Contribute to RF circuit and antenna design.
• Contribute to mechanical assemblies for electronic systems.
• Contribute to RF signaling waveforms and software-defined RF systems.
• Develop software for RF systems and assist in lab testing.
• Participate in laboratory and field testing of RF systems.
• Work onsite as required.
