Job summary

The Encompass Group is partnering with a fast-growing healthcare organization to identify a Senior Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. This role offers exposure beyond traditional month-end responsibilities, collaborating with the Technical Accounting Manager on GAAP research, technical accounting projects, and M&A activities.

The ideal candidate has 3–6+ years of accounting experience, strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Public accounting experience strongly preferred.
• CPA or CPA-eligible preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.
• Experience with Sage Intacct or a similar ERP system is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical accounting concepts clearly.
• A continuous improvement mindset and the ability to thrive in a growing environment.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Technical Accounting Manager on accounting initiatives.
• Perform technical accounting research and apply U.S. GAAP guidance.
• Support accounting activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
• Assist with complex accounting projects and provide accurate, well-supported analysis.
• Utilize Excel to analyze financial information and support accounting processes and reporting.
• Clearly communicate technical accounting concepts and findings to internal stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and overall efficiency.
• Take ownership of assigned projects while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
