The Technical Expert Controls Commissioning I is responsible for providing technical guidance and implementation support to project team members. This role supports successful commissioning within the scope of industrial automation, control logic, and system integration. This position requires entry-level analytical skills, hands‑on experience with industrial control systems, and the demonstrated ability to drive technical issue resolution in fast paced, time sensitive situations.

Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Technical Leadership & Support
  • Support the execution of commissioning protocols
  • Deliver structured technical instructions and real‑time troubleshooting support to commissioning teams, ensuring adherence to system design
  • Assist in the verification and validation of control systems, to ensure readiness and compliance with performance benchmarks
• Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Analyze metrics and milestones to identify areas for continuous quality improvement
  • Conduct basic quality checks on programs and materials, ensuring adherence to standards and safety
  • Support compliance with KNAPP commissioning processes, site inspections, and testing activities
• Training & Documentation
  • Actively participate in training sessions on KNAPP systems and internal procedures
  • Generate detailed technical documentation within scope of level I role and project assignments to support knowledge transfer and startup support.
• Commissioning & Customer Support
  • Support commissioning efforts both remotely and on-site
  • Actively support customer engagements and service activities during critical project milestones
• Project Involvement & Improvement Initiatives
  • Take initiative and actively contribute to meeting project goals and resolving technical challenges
  • Recommend and implement solutions for technical and procedural improvements
• Communicate effectively with cross‑functional teams and elevate issues as needed
• Promote a proactive, problem‑solving culture within the commissioning team

WHAT YOU HAVE

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experiencein industrial automation or control systems
• Obtain and maintain all applicable certifications as required for position and project
• Experience using PLC control or Subsystems
• Intermediateskills in Microsoft Office Suites and project documentation

Working Conditions and Environment:

• This role requires flexibility to work beyond standard business hours, including weekends, overtime, and responding to urgent customer needs as necessary
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• Travel required up 40%
• Passport or ability to obtain passport
• Professional office etiquette is required at all times
• Ability to travel by air both domestically (US) and internationally (primarily to Austria and other parts of Europe as well as Canada)
• Physical requirements: sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, climbing a ladder, speaking, visual acuity, finger dexterity, repetitive motion of hands and/or wrists
• listening, reaching at arm’s length, crouch, bend or kneel, and lift, move, push, pull up to 50-100 pounds
