KNAPP seeks a Principle Control Systems Commissioning Technician in Kennesaw, GA to support, develop, test, and implement PLC programs for automated logistics systems.

You will lead the design and development of control systems, provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians, and diagnose issues while documenting project progress. Expect 60% travel to U.S. client sites and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years as a PLC or commissioning engineer/technician.
• Proficiency with Siemens PLCs using Step 7 and TIA Portal.
• Experience programming AS-I Master systems and configuring drive tech.

Knapp Inc. seeks Principle Control Systems Commissioning Technicians in Kennesaw, GA.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• PLC Programming and Integration: Support, develop, test, and implement PLC programs for automated logistics systems.
• System Design and Development: Lead the design and development of control systems.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Diagnose and resolve issues with control systems.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports on system performance and project progress.

WHAT YOU HAVE

• Must have 7 years of experience as a PLC or Commissioning Engineer or Technician, including:
  • programming Siemens PLC using Step 7 of TIA portal in programming languages Ladder, SCL and STL;
  • utilizing AS-I and Profi bus systems to program/configure AS-I Master systems;
  • setting up and configuring industrial barcode scanners (SICK and Datalogic); and
  • configuring and calibrating various brands of Frequency Drives.

Working Conditions and Environment:

• Overtime required (avg. 6 hours/week).
• Frequent travel (60%) to U.S. client sites required as assigned by employer (various unanticipated U.S. worksites); less than 10% int’l. travel.
