Job summary

Staples is seeking a Technical Engineer II to support the Retail Infrastructure across our store network in Framingham, MA. You will help design, deploy, and maintain endpoint technologies, OS images, and deployment solutions to ensure reliable store operations and a secure, efficient IT environment.

You will troubleshoot issues, participate in technology initiatives, and collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, store ops, and vendors to drive improvements in performance and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT/CS/Engineering.
• 2+ years supporting enterprise endpoint technologies and IT operations.
• Experience troubleshooting Windows OS, endpoint devices, and hardware.
• Experience with endpoint management platforms (ConfigMgr/Intune/BigFix).
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and deployment concepts.
• Scripting with PowerShell or similar.
• Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, switches, routers, firewalls).

Responsibilities

• Support deployment, administration, maintenance, and optimization of retail endpoint technologies and infrastructure solutions.
• Configure, package, test, deploy, and troubleshoot applications using enterprise endpoint management platforms.
• Maintain Windows OS images, device configurations, Group Policy, and security settings.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, OS, application, and network issues.
• Participate in evaluating, testing, and implementing new technologies, hardware, and software solutions.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and SOPs.
• Support automation initiatives that improve efficiency and system administration.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cybersecurity, store operations, vendors, and business partners on projects.
• Monitor system performance and recommend improvements for reliability and security.
