Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a Technical Engineer – Generator to join its field-based maintenance team in the UK. The role sees regular travel, a salary up to £53,000, and a company vehicle, with 40-hour weeks and office support for technical tasks.

You will resolve complex generator-related engineering issues, support audits and RAMS, and contribute to ongoing development of generator products and services, with strong training and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Strong practical engineering knowledge of generators and UPS systems.
  • Experience in standby power or related engineering environment.
  • Knowledge of fuel tank installations.
  • Experience with generator control systems such as ComAp and DSE.
  • Experience using ComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite.
  • Experience with multi-set and mains synchronisation controls.
  • PLC programming skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent customer-facing and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Willingness to undertake high mileage and regular UK travel.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to engineers, office teams and customers.
  • Provide technical support to Service Coordinators and Maintenance Projects.
  • Support engineers with technical reports and troubleshooting.
  • Carry out site audits and provide technical input into audit activities.
  • Conduct site surveys for maintenance sales, remedial works and maintenance projects.
  • Compile accurate parts lists following site surveys.
  • Provide out-of-hours technical support to customers and engineers as part of the OOH management team.
  • Liaise with the internal Technical Team regarding product development and improvements.
  • Support engineer training and technical development.
  • Assist with engineer quality control and maintaining high engineering standards.
  • Compile and approve RAMS.
  • Provide technical guidance across generator systems, controls and associated equipment.

The Opportunity

An established and growingUK technical engineering businessis looking for an experiencedTechnical Engineer – Generatorto join its Maintenance team.

The company has more than 40 years of experience within thestandby power and energy efficiency sectors, providing critical power solutions to a wide range of commercial and industrial customers across the UK.

The role is predominantly field-based, with regular travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays. You’ll also work closely with office-based teams, engineers, customers and senior technical personnel.

As a Technical Engineer, you’ll become an important technical resource within the business, helping to resolve complex engineering issues, improve standards and support the ongoing development of its generator products and services.

  • Previous industry experience within standby power or a related engineering environment.

  • Experience using software such asComAp PC Suite and DSE Configuration Suite.
