Job summary

DC Army National Guard in the United States seeks a Technical Engineer to help plan and repair airstrips, docks, barracks, roads and other projects. You will develop skills to lead construction crews and create construction plans, maps and specifications.

Your training covers site development, surveying, drafting, and project development, with duties including material testing, drawing maps, land surveys, wiring/plumbing diagrams, and creating photomaps from aerial photos.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
• Must meet citizenship requirements

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using Computer Aided Drafting systems and software
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys and results utilizing Automated Integrated Survey Instruments and Global Positioning Survey Technology
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects

Skills
