Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Technical Engineer to help plan and repair airstrips, docks, barracks, roads, and other projects. You will develop skills in surveying, drafting, and construction plan development while training to become a valued asset in civilian construction sectors.

Expect 10 weeks of Basic Training and 17 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, with pay during training and opportunities for tuition assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or a GED certificate.
• Training includes 10 weeks Basic Training and 17 weeks Advanced Individual Training.
• Experience with surveying and drafting is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using CAD systems.
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys using surveying instruments and GPS technology.
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
