Job summary

DC Army National Guard seeks a Technical Engineer to help plan and execute construction projects, including airstrips, docks, barracks, and roads. You will develop skills in surveying, drafting, and creating construction plans and specifications.

During training you will perform site development tasks, create maps, charts, and scale drawings, and gain experience through fieldwork. This role supports a civilian career path in engineering and architecture after service.

Qualifications

• Military enlistment in the Army National Guard.
• Must be at least a junior in high school, or have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be between 17 and 35 years old.
• Must be able to pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards.
• Must meet citizenship requirements.

Responsibilities

• Draw topographic maps and charts using Computer Aided Drafting systems and software.
• Conduct geodetic and construction surveys and results utilizing Automated Integrated Survey Instruments and GPS technology.
• Provide technical support for vertical and horizontal construction projects.
