Job Description
- Epic Cogito Administration: The Cogito/Clarity Database Administrator is responsible for configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the Cogito databases to align with the environment strategy.
Responsibilities include:
- Capacity planning to ensure sufficient system resources.
- Monitoring database size and health.
- Creating and managing plans for statistics and index maintenance.
- Understanding performance metrics, monitoring system performance, and troubleshooting issues, including emergency and after-hours situations.
- Managing login configurations for different access levels.
- Performing RDBMS upgrades and updates for both production and non-production environments.
- Performing regular database backups, verifying restores, and ensuring business continuity through thorough process maintenance and testing.
- Installing and maintaining administrative and monitoring tools for high availability and performance.
- Following vendor and Epic best practices for hardware and software configuration.
- Participating in change control processes for planned technical activities.
- Collaborating with technical teams and Epic for proactive support.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of system development methodology and project management principles.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems.
- Technical understanding of clinical systems.
