Job summary

ANSER is seeking a Technical Editor or Writer to develop, review, and refine technical documentation for government clients and internal stakeholders. The role focuses on translating complex information into clear, user-friendly content and requires on-site work in the greater Northern Virginia area with some hybrid or remote opportunities considered on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience writing/editing technical content, preferably for government/defense/intelligence programs.
• Strong grammar, usage, and editing conventions with attention to detail.
• Experience with style guides (Chicago/APA or in-house templates).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Active security clearance or ability to obtain one may be required.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and format technical documents including reports, manuals, briefings, white papers, proposals, and policy documents.
• Review content for clarity, grammar, consistency, and adherence to style guides and formatting standards.
• Collaborate with SMEs, analysts, and project teams to translate complex technical concepts into user-friendly content.
• Ensure all deliverables are accurate, professional, and aligned with standards.
• Manage multiple editing and writing projects under tight deadlines while maintaining quality and accuracy.
• Maintain version control and documentation workflows using collaborative editing tools.
• Apply plain language principles and federal writing guidelines when appropriate.
