Are you ready to shape the future of global security? The Leidos Intelligence Sector is seeking a detail‑oriented Technical Editor – Senior to support the USCYBERCOM J2 mission by reviewing, refining, and ensuring the quality of finished intelligence products.
Contract Status: Proposal Phase / Contingent Upon Award.
Security Clearance: Active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph required; sponsorship not available.
What you’ll be doing
- Review and edit intelligence products for proper grammar, punctuation, and syntax, as well as for clarity, logic, and consistency of content and argument.
- Ensure that all products conform to agency and Intelligence Community publication standards, style guides, and the specialized vocabulary relevant to the subject matter.
- Amend and refine draft tables, tone boxes, and graphics to ensure content supports and is consistent with the accompanying text.
- Verify proper classification markings and handling instructions for all products in accordance with IC and agency guidance.
- Collaborate with authors to revise and reorganize product narrative for improved logical flow, negotiating further revisions as needed to optimize the quality and utility of each product.
- Assist in the management of all J2 finished intelligence products approved for external dissemination.
- Research and collect information from internal and external stakeholders, including subject matter experts and relevant open sources, to ensure thorough and accurate product content.
- Analyze, interpret, cross‑check, and edit intelligence products to ensure accuracy and compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), including but not limited to ICDs 206, 209, 501, and 710.
- Organize information and determine the optimal method of presentation; create content according to established plans.
- Ensure that completed products fulfill their specified purpose, audience, and mission scope.
- Assist in determining and supervising the production process for completed materials, overseeing workflow from draft through publication and dissemination.
- Document Operating Instructions (OIs) for command‑wide programs and initiatives as assigned by the Government, standardizing editorial best practices and supporting process improvement.
Needed Experience, Skills, and Education
- Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
- Master’s degree in an area related to the labor category from an accredited institution; or Bachelor’s degree plus an additional 5 years of related senior experience (total 17 years) as a substitute to the Master’s; additional years may be considered in lieu of the degree.
Preferred Experience, Skills, and Education
- Deep familiarity with USCYBERCOM organizational structure and mission.
- Demonstrated experience providing intelligence management and administrative support in a joint or combatant command environment.
- Ability to support timely, accurate, relevant analytical production, including documents, summaries, issue papers, talking points, and briefings.
- Strong ability to quickly and effectively gather requirements, perform research, compile information, prioritize and collate, draft, edit, and produce high‑quality documentation that satisfies customer needs with minimal follow‑on work.
- Proficiency working in a fast‑paced collaborative environment, proactively multi‑tasking and meeting short deadlines, with excellent writing and grammatical skills.
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and communication skills, including the ability to convey complex and technical data to non‑technical consumers.
- Ability to work across Department of Defense and Intelligence Community agencies to support organizational goals.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $105,300.00 – $190,350.00. Pay and benefits are a general guideline only; additional factors may be considered.
