Piper Companies is seeking a Technical Editor & Research Specialist to join a leading organization within the networking and cybersecurity industry. The Technical Editor & Research Specialist will support certification, compliance, and security documentation initiatives by conducting technical research, developing high-quality written content, and translating complex engineering concepts into clear, structured documentation that aligns with international regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities of the Technical Editor & Research Specialist:
- Research technical, regulatory, and certification topics related to cybersecurity, networking, and product compliance.
- Develop, edit, and maintain technical documentation supporting certification and compliance initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineers, security architects, and program stakeholders to gather technical information and produce accurate documentation.
- Translate complex security and networking concepts into clear, concise, and audit-ready deliverables.
- Support Common Criteria (CC) and EU Common Criteria (EUCC) certification efforts through documentation development and analysis.
- Review technical content for accuracy, consistency, and alignment with regulatory and certification requirements.
- Manage multiple documentation projects and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
- Assist with research efforts related to emerging regulatory frameworks and industry standards.
Qualifications of the Technical Editor & Research Specialist:
- Exceptional English writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct detailed research on technical and regulatory subjects.
- Familiarity with Common Criteria (CC) and EU Common Criteria (EUCC) frameworks.
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear narratives.
- Ability to transform high-level security engineering concepts into structured, compliant documentation.
- Working knowledge of networking technologies including Network Security, IDS/IPS, Routing & Switching, and Cloud/Datacenter environments.
- Experience working in a technical environment and effectively collaborating with engineers and business stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel as required by program needs.
- Preferred: Experience with Cisco technologies; CCNA and/or CCNP knowledge is highly desirable.
Compensation for the Technical Editor & Research Specialist includes:
- Salary range: $115,000 - $120,000 depending on experience
