Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking an experienced Technical Editor in Oak Ridge, TN to support our office with writing and editing proposals, technical reports, and marketing materials. You will translate complex scientific information into clear, organized content for engineers, scientists, and customers.

The role requires collaboration with technical teams, a strong command of Microsoft Word, and the ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in scientific and/or technical writing, preferably in a DOE environment.
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft Word, including document preparation, editing, and formatting.
• Experience analyzing complex scientific and technical information and summarizing it effectively for general audiences.
• Strong technical writing, editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
• Ability to collaborate with technical professionals and multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet strict deadlines.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a DOE Q-clearance.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, writing, and editing of proposals and marketing materials supporting technical programs and projects.
• Prepare, review, and edit technical reports, documents, and other written materials for Tetra Tech CES HEI customers.
• Collaborate with technical personnel, project teams, and partner or customer organizations to develop high-quality technical content.
• Analyze complex scientific and technical information and summarize it clearly for general and nontechnical audiences.
• Ensure written materials are accurate, consistent, well-organized, and professionally presented.
• Use Microsoft Word to develop, format, edit, and finalize technical documents and proposals.
• Coordinate document development activities with technical contributors and other stakeholders.
• Prioritize and manage multiple writing and editing assignments to meet strict project deadlines. Conduct activities in accordance with internal procedures, applicable requirements, and industry standards.
• Work safely at all times and report health and safety incidents and concerns.
• Perform additional duties as required.
