Job summary

Theater Outsource Inc. is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead product development, technical documentation, field support, and special projects in a dynamic entertainment technology environment.

You will move between product design, site conditions, installation details, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure products are practical, well documented, and successfully implemented in the field. Regular travel is required in the U.S.

Qualifications

• Technical product, systems, installation, engineering, or related industry experience.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, site conditions, and technical requirements.
• Practical problem-solving skills and confidence working with field teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead U.S. product-development efforts, including construction, cost/price considerations, installation guidance, and maintenance requirements.
• Coordinate product testing for safety, quality, performance, and standards.
• Research materials with focus on durability, sustainability, performance and cost.
• Develop and maintain installation manuals, specs, cut sheets, and submittal materials.
• Travel to job sites to support quoting, assess installation readiness and troubleshoot field issues.

Technical Drafter — Product Development & FieldOperations

Location: Philadelphia PA

Employment: Full-time

Travel: Regular U.S. travel; occasional international travel

Compensation: $90,000 base + up to $5,000 performance bonus

The Opportunity

A leading manufacturer serving the performance andentertainment industry is seeking a hands-on Technical Manager to lead productdevelopment, technical documentation, field support, and special projects.

This is a highly visible role for someone who can movecomfortably between product design, site conditions, installation details,technical problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration. You will helpensure products are practical, compliant, well documented, and successfullyimplemented in the field.

What You’ll Do

• LeadU.S. product-development efforts, including product construction,cost/price considerations, installation guidance, and maintenancerequirements.
• Coordinateproduct testing for safety, quality, performance, and applicable technicalstandards.
• Researchand specify materials with an eye toward durability, sustainability,performance, and cost-effectiveness.
• Workwith suppliers and manufacturers on components and product solutions.
• Developand maintain installation manuals, maintenance guides, technicalspecifications, cut sheets, standard details, and submittal materials.
• Travelto job sites to support quoting, assess installation readiness,troubleshoot field issues, and recommend next steps.
• Reviewcomplex specifications and drawings; provide technical solutions forexisting and new products.
• Supportkey-project quoting, cost optimization, CAD drawings, and technicaldocumentation.
• Establishand maintain quality-control procedures, testing protocols, compliancerecords, and performance documentation.
• Coordinatespecial product projects, including timelines, budgets, suppliers,engineering partners, and field teams.
• Deliverinternal training and continuing-education presentations for clients,partners, and internal teams.
• Supportsales and marketing with accurate technical input for product data sheets,trade-show materials, and case studies.
• Identifyopportunities to improve workflows tied to quoting, installation,documentation, and product implementation.

What You Bring

• Technicalproduct, systems, installation, engineering, architectural, manufacturing,or related industry experience.
• Strongability to interpret drawings, specifications, site conditions, andtechnical requirements.
• Practicalproblem-solving skills and confidence working directly with field teams,customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
• Strongorganization and project coordination skills.
• Willingnessto travel regularly throughout the United States.
