Job description

Summary:

Meta is seeking a Technical Domain Manager (TDM), an IC role responsible for the implementation and deployment of corporate network infrastructure across Meta's office, data center, retail, and POP facility types. This role combines deep technical expertise with project management and hardware logistics to drive infrastructure from design through construction and build delivery, with a focus on technical problem-solving, standards development, and hands-on project execution. The TDM partners closely with internal customers to understand requirements and deliver solutions that improve connectivity and services across Meta's global portfolio.

Required Skills:
  1. Lead the implementation and deployment of network infrastructure for new builds, retrofits, and expansions across office, data center, retail, and POP facility types

  2. Collaborate with network engineering, workplace design and engineering, and connectivity teams to develop comprehensive network infrastructure design packages tailored to each building type

  3. Apply technology standards throughout the design phase and ensure consistent application across all facility verticals including retail environments with unique connectivity requirements

  4. Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for physical network infrastructure design — structured cabling, fiber optic systems, and wireless — across diverse facility types

  5. Use drafting software to produce and markup architectural/technology drawings with electrical and data symbols aligned to Meta design standards

  6. Influence future iterations of facility and network designs to ensure seamless integration of new infrastructure and enable scalability

  7. Consult with Design Engineering/SMEs for non-standard spaces including retail environments, specialized labs, and unique build‑out configurations

  8. Partner with engineering teams to ensure fiber infrastructure management tools accurately reflect design intent and capture infrastructure changes

  9. Drive all aspects of network construction and deployment including new sites, retrofits, and build‑outs across office, data center, retail, and POP facilities

  10. Provide hands‑on technical leadership during analysis, design development, construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases

  11. Perform site visits and work cross‑functionally with construction teams, design architects, and contractors to validate infrastructure builds according to Meta's standards

  12. Manage onsite integration for all new builds and retrofits — removing roadblocks for technicians and contractors during deployment

  13. Drive alignment of network technology milestones with build schedules

  14. own tracking and reporting of project status

  15. Perform testing and commissioning handovers from Meta commissioning technicians and third‑party vendors

  16. Perform risk management and change management on active projects

  17. Develop and track budgets, forecasts, and actuals for network build projects across all facility types

  18. Serve as the primary technical interface between network engineering, build, and design teams

  19. Work with design and build teams to identify and remedy process gaps, driving continuous improvement in delivery methodologies

  20. Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and vendors across the build and technology ecosystem

  21. Manage end‑to‑end hardware procurement lifecycle — from specification and vendor selection through purchase orders, delivery tracking, and warehouse coordination

  22. Own hardware logistics including inventory management, staging, shipping to site, and ensuring materials arrive aligned with build schedules

  23. Coordinate with vendors and supply chain partners to resolve lead time issues, backorders, and hardware substitutions

  24. Perform logical network bootstrapping functions to ensure internal tools reflect network hardware and circuits

  25. Identify operational pain points and opportunities to improve business practices

  26. Initiate and lead strategic initiatives that drive efficiency, innovation, and standardization through coding and automation

  27. Maintain technical references, processes, and training documentation

  28. Provide day‑to‑day project coordination and quality assurance across active deployments and tasks

  29. Manage project schedules, dependencies, and milestones across multiple concurrent builds

Minimum Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in a directly related field, or equivalent practical experience

  2. 7+ years of work experience with designing and deploying large‑scale Office/Data Center network infrastructure

  3. Demonstrated knowledge of structured cabling and fiber optic infrastructure, including design and installation best practices, industry standards, applications, and limitations

  4. Knowledge of the data center/office building architecture and network design, construction, and startup/commissioning processes

  5. Experience driving cross‑functional collaboration across technical teams through infrastructure project lifecycles

  6. Track record of solving problems, setting strategic direction, and executing tactically

  7. Working knowledge of internet networking technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching), and optical transport technologies

  8. Knowledge of enterprise and provider‑level network hardware platforms (IP + optical)

  9. Experience organizing and prioritizing competing workstreams based on impact, deadlines, and stakeholder needs, and communicating project status to technical and non‑technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Experience delivering network infrastructure projects in diverse facility types (data centers, corporate offices, retail/commercial spaces)

  2. Experience working with on‑site construction teams and managing contractor and vendor relationships through project completion

  3. Knowledge of inside/outside plant cable design, dark fiber builds, and structured cabling for new constructions

  4. Experience working on a global team in a matrixed environment with limited supervision

  5. Familiarity with retail store technology requirements and unique deployment constraints (smaller footprints, customer‑facing environments, accelerated timelines)

  6. Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)

  7. Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies

  8. Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
