Job summary

Stanford University’s Department of Theater & Performance Studies (TAPS) seeks a Technical Director to oversee VSOs, advise on design, budget, and build schedules, and supervise build sessions and on-call tech support. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and two years of related experience.
• Preferred: Head Carpenter or Technical Director experience.
• Knowledge of drafting software such as Vectorworks or AutoCAD.
• Experience working with students and managing budgets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with production team to align technical production with artistic vision.
• Coordinate with vendors for equipment delivery and scheduling.
• Monitor production progress and track project milestones and timelines.
• Provide oversight to stage technicians and mentor contingent crew.
• Review vendor invoices for accuracy and processing.
• Assist with administrative tasks for the Production/Program team.
