Job summary

GHD is seeking a Technical Director/Lead Engineer to oversee solid waste services across the US on a part-time/as-needed basis. You will guide project delivery, engage clients, and shape roadmaps in the region, with a focus on organics, alternative waste treatment, and renewables.

The role requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering background, a PE license, and 10+ years in solid waste, with strong communication and leadership skills to mentor staff and drive successful outcomes within a

Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the solid waste market with strong Midwest connections.
Excellent written and oral communication skills; proven ability to develop, mentor and lead professional technical staff.
PE license and Civil/Environmental Engineering degree are required.

Responsibilities

Serve as the Project Director on technical projects and develop/execute client engagement plans.
Collaborate with Regional Market Leaders and Service Line Leaders to achieve strong business outcomes.
Develop and mentor junior and/or rising talent within the Business Group.
Pre-positions for projects, develop opportunities, and obtain RFPs.
Develop responses to RFPs, scope of work packages, budgets, and progress reports.
Drive project teams to deliver technically sound projects meeting client and GHD requirements.
Manage financial performance including backlog, utilization, AR/DSO, variances, and markups.
Identify and mitigate risks; adhere to Safety, Integrity, Quality and Environment systems.
Foster positive client interaction as evidenced by surveys.
