The Technical Director partners closely with Program Leadership, Operations, Quality, and Field teams to ensure projects are executed in accordance with IES standards, customer technical requirements, and program objectives. This role is program‑based and customer‑agnostic, enabling scalable support across multiple accounts and regions.

  • Establish, maintain, and enforce standardized technical execution practices, engineering standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Technical Managers and Senior Field Engineers supporting the program.
  • Provide oversight to program‑assigned schedulers to ensure schedule discipline, forecasting accuracy, and coordination with operations.
  • Serve as the program‑level escalation point for technical issues impacting delivery, schedule, or customer confidence.
  • Ensure consistent application of technical requirements, specifications, and standards across all sites.
  • Support program startup and readiness processes, including engineering reviews, constructability alignment, and execution planning.
  • Partner with Pre‑Construction teams to support scope validation, constructability reviews, estimating support, and proposal development.
  • Support program‑level change management discipline, including scope validation, technical justification, and trend visibility.
  • Monitor program‑level performance metrics, dashboards, and KPIs related to technical execution and schedule health.
  • Identify technical risks early and support mitigation and recovery planning as required.
  • Drive continuous improvement, lessons learned, and best‑practice adoption across programs.
  • Reinforce company safety culture, technical accountability, and Stop Work Authority expectations.
  • Participate in customer meetings, performance reviews, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned.

  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across regions and departments.
