Job summary

Luxora Theater in Austin, TX seeks a Technical Director to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget technical execution across four spaces. You own the venue’s stage systems—rigging, lighting, audio, video, power, and machinery—and are the primary technical contact from site visit to load-out.

You will advance technical riders, schedule and supervise crews, maintain equipment and safety programs, and coordinate with bookings, sales, and facilities to deliver fast, safe changeovers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years in technical direction or production management at roadhouse or similar venue.
• Experience advancing touring productions and corporate events in rental environments.
• ETCP Rigging certification preferred; ETCP Entertainment Electrician a plus.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to operate cargo vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Own the Main Theater’s stage systems and ensure safe, on-time execution.
• Advance technical riders, visit sites, and translate needs into house plans.
• Lead load-ins, changeovers, and coordinate crew and overhire.
• Develop budgets, cost estimates, and technical packs for events.
• Coordinate with Bookings, Sales, Facilities, and other departments.
