Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Dallas, TX is seeking a Technical Director of Systems Engineering to lead the EOIS Aviation & Sensors product development. You will define requirements, coordinate design across disciplines, and guide prototype-to-production efforts while aligning with program objectives.

You will mentor teams, interact with customers, and ensure technical excellence in EO/IR systems, gimbals, and sensors. Security clearance is required for eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field with 10+ years of experience.
• Experience leading product development teams.
• EO/IR systems engineering expertise including infrared sensors and optics.
• Experience with stabilized gimbal systems for airborne/land/maritime use.
• Experience transitioning systems into production.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for prototype and product development activities.
• Collaborate with customers, engineering leadership, and LOB leadership to set requirements.
• Guide cross-functional teams across systems, mechanical, electrical, and software.
• Ensure designs meet cost, performance, and schedule targets.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with program management and suppliers.
• Contribute to proposals and defend technical approaches.
