Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Vice President, Environmental Remediation Engineer in California to lead multi‑media remediation programs across industries. The role focuses on sales, business development, design, and project leadership from Oakland to San Diego.

The candidate will mentor engineers, manage budgets, and drive delivery while expanding WSP’s environmental consulting presence in the California West region. A California PE license and 12+ years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental or related Engineering field.
  • California (Civil) Professional Engineer’s License.
  • 12+ years of related environmental remediation and sales experience.
  • Strong work ethic, project management experience, and self‑starter attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with remediation/assessment projects involving the Regional Quality Water Quality Control Board, DTSC, and/or local CUPAs.
  • Ability to mentor and direct engineers and technicians.
  • Experience with CERCLA, RCRA, DTSC, Water Board, and other CalEPA programs.
  • Consulting experience with petroleum contamination cleanups in soil and groundwater (LNAPL) and/or chlorinated solvent contamination remediation.
  • Consulting experience in soil gas and vapor intrusion issues.
  • Developing and managing complex engineering design and design‑build projects.
  • Oversee remedy construction and operation/maintenance of environmental project work.
  • Must pass drug test, physical, background check, and hold a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.

Vice President, Environmental Remediation Engineer – California offices (Oakland, Rancho Cordova, Roseville, Petaluma, San Jose, Fresno, Costa Mesa, and San Diego)

Job Description

WSP is seeking an experienced professional to consult, sell, manage, design, and implement Environmental Multi‑media Remediation programs for clients in the Industrial, Government, Energy, Oil & Gas, and Transportation sectors. The candidate will support business development and help expand WSP’s environmental consulting practice in California and the West.

Your Impact

Preferred Qualifications
  • 40‑Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120) preferred.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training desired.

Compensation

Expected Salary (California): $180,000–$270,000.
