Job summary

WSP seeks a Technical Director, Electrical Engineer to lead the electrical power components for industrial and government projects from Boise, ID; Houston, TX; Madison, WI; Overland Park, KS; or Minneapolis, MN, with hybrid or remote options for the right candidate.

You will guide design, studies, and construction deliverables, mentor staff, ensure compliance with NEC/IEEE, and manage budgets and client relations across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• 12+ years of relevant post-education experience designing power projects.
• Engineering license required (multi-state preferred).
• Strong knowledge of electrical design, codes, and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee electrical power design for industrial/government projects.
• Develop and review construction drawings, specs, BOMs, and cost estimates.
• Mentor staff and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams across multiple offices.
• Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NERC and related standards.
• Manage project budgets, schedules, and subcontractors to deliver on scope.
• Engage with clients and regulators to address design challenges.
