Job summary

Nexstar Media Group, Inc. seeks a Technical Director/Digital Content Producer to coordinate all technical operators during newscasts and other live productions.

Based in Panama City, Florida, this role supports the newsroom by directing camera and CG operators, testing equipment, and ensuring clean, high-energy broadcasts.

You will supervise staff, switch video sources in real time, collaborate with engineering and production teams, and help deliver timely, accurate coverage.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Fluent English with strong communication skills.
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations and production.
• Proficiency with office equipment and broadcast control equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates the efforts of all technical operators during newscasts and live productions.
• Supervises and assigns duties to workers engaged in technical control and production.
• Observes monitors and directs camera/video staff on composition.
• Acts as liaison between engineering and production departments.
• Works with news producers to deliver clean, high-energy newscasts.
• Trains camera and CG operators for live broadcasts.
• Switches video sources and gives direction during live broadcasts.
• Tests equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:

• High school diploma
• Fluency in English
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Minimum two years’ experience in news operations and production (Depending on market size)
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
• Proficiency with broadcast control equipment
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
