Job summary

Nationwide Financial’s actuarial organization seeks a forward‑thinking technology leader to drive enterprise‑scale data, analytics, cloud modernization and AI solutions. You will translate business priorities into scalable, secure, cloud‑native implementations and guide actuarial teams in adopting modern data and AI workflows.

You’ll report to the Senior Technical Director, serve as a liaison between actuarial and tech teams, identify opportunities, shape roadmaps and mentor others across data,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of actuarial or similar experience.
• 5+ years designing cloud-native data platforms using Snowflake, Databricks and AWS.
• 3+ years delivering AI, ML, or generative AI in production.
• Proven experience leading enterprise-scale digital transformation and data modernization.
• Strong data platform architecture and cloud-native design principles.
• Experience partnering with business stakeholders to develop technology roadmaps.
• Executive communication, strategic problem solving and influencing without authority.

Responsibilities

• Crafts direction for data compilation, categorization and analysis.
• Designs and maintains actuarial, projection and valuation models.
• Leads pricing and implementation strategies for products.
• Oversees risk analysis for multiple lines of business.
• Leads cross-functional programs and data governance initiatives.
• Communicates complex tech concepts to executives and technical audiences.
