The position is based in North Carolina’s Research Triangle. Occasional domestic and international travel will be required.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical leadership on all technologies relating to Raman and OCT for the Morrisville facility for internal stakeholders, external customers and technology partners.
  • Work with product marketing to ensure product specifications can be met and validated through rigorous quality control via our ISO 9001:2015 processes.
  • Help define and drive implementation of the company’s technology roadmap, thereby informing and guiding which innovative technologies and ideas flow into the new product development roadmap.
  • Work closely with Engineering leadership to raise the technical knowledge and awareness of best engineering best practices across the organization.
  • Analyze diverse analytical data and interpret the results against requirements and market goals.
  • Provide comprehensive and well written reports, white papers, and/or summaries for internal and external clients as well as for marketing communications.
  • Proactively identify and address potential problems related to the successful delivery of Wasatch Photonics products and development projects. Address unanticipated issues and problems in an expedient, efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Contribute to Wasatch Photonics leadership, helping to influence company strategy and culture.
  • Manage, develop and grow the technology team at Wasatch Photonics.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Higher degree (e.g. MSc. or PhD) in physics, optics or analytical / physical chemistry is preferred but BS or 10+ years of experience in a related industry or an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in bringing new product innovations from ideation to realization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, managerial, and written communication skills.
  • Expert knowledge of all aspects of the relevant spectroscopic areas as related to the development and testing of Raman products.
  • The ability to independently recognize opportunities and the need for business and process improvements, linked with the ability to define and implement an optimal course of action.
  • The ability to self-motivate to a high level of productivity.
  • Strong working knowledge of the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the types of instruments produced by Wasatch Photonics.
  • The ability to organize and coordinate a variety of complex tasks to achieve consistent and efficient production and delivery of high-quality laboratory work.
