Job description

Life at Wasatch Photonics revolves around our customers and our technology, and the Product Manager is key in bringing those two together. Wasatch produces leading-edge spectrometers utilized by Research and Development and OEM customers. Our spectrometers enable cutting edge research to help solve real world problems through Raman, OCT, and NIR and fluorescence spectroscopy, and this new position is created to fuel this mission.

Location: This position is based in Morrisville, NC (Raleigh/Durham’s Research Triangle Park). Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.

Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Establish the vision, strategic plan and roadmap for the Raman, Non-Raman, and OCT product lines to support the business strategy.
  • Provide competitive analysis to inform market strategy and influence product positioning and pricing.
  • Help create and maintain sales and technical support tools to enhance the customer experience.
  • Partner closely with the Application and Engineering teams to provide input on product and market requirements to execute new product introductions.
  • Work in partnership with key internal stakeholders in all business functions to ensure the product requirements are understood and product specification met.
  • Play a pivotal role in driving new product introduction through our new product development processes.
  • Responsible for product lifecycle management based on ongoing customer insights to ensure the product lines vitality.
  • Report directly to the VP Engineering.
  • Work hard, have fun, be a good teammate.
Experience/Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in applicable science or engineering discipline required.
  • >3 years’ experience in product management, product development, or related field. Talented graduates with leadership experience and exceptional communication skills are welcome to apply.
  • Specific experience in optics and photonics technologies such as spectrometers is a strong plus.
  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn about customers’ applications to help create strong relations and develop winning product solutions.
  • Exceptional and proficient communicator across all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritize as required to meet business goals, ability to work simultaneously on multiple product lines.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications, experience with SolidWorks, Zemax, or other technical software tools ideal
