Job summary

ATSC is seeking a Technical Director in Gilbert, AZ to lead the architecture, integration, testing, and deployment of advanced C5ISR border surveillance and Counter-UAS solutions. • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience developing and integrating complex defense or C5ISR systems.

• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a government security clearance.

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Technical Director lead the architecture, integration, testing, and deployment of advanced C5ISR border/perimeter surveillance and Counter-UAS solutions. This role will translate customer mission requirements into scalable, resilient systems integrating radars, EO/IR sensors, communications, command-and-control, AI/ML analytics, networking, cybersecurity, edge computing, and operator applications. The hands‑on role leads product and solution development, R&D, technical customer and industry engagement, and collaboration with business and program teams. Focus areas include sensor integration, secure communications, command and control, hybrid power generation, border/perimeter security and surveillance in urban and austere environments, and Counter-UAS detect, track, identify and defeat systems.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead end-to-end system architecture and technical strategy across integrated hardware and software solutions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
• 10+ years of experience developing and integrating complex defense, aerospace, C5ISR, surveillance, communications, or mission-critical systems.
• Proven experience leading integrated hardware/software solutions from concept through deployment.
• Strong background in systems engineering, integration and test, and requirements management.
• Ability to provide both strategic technical leadership and hands-on engineering support.
• Customer-focused approach: provide accurate information, meet commitments, identify appropriate solutions and services, and adjust based on customer feedback.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a government security clearance.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is typically performed in an office setting; some travel may be required.
• Regularly required to stand, sit, bend, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
• Must be able to lift 15-25 pounds and read, write and speak English.
