A leading global distribution partner seeks a Technical Development Manager for Nutraceuticals to engage with customers and drive formulation development. This remote position involves significant travel and requires a degree in a scientific discipline with substantial laboratory or industrial experience, focusing on solid and liquid dosage forms.
Technical Development Manager, Nutraceuticals TechnicalDevelopment Manager – Nutraceuticals This role is remotely based in the West Coast preferably California, Arizona, Nevada, or Utah. TheTechnical Development Manager (TDM) partners with the Technical Account Manager(TAM) within a geographic region to drive opportunity development from conceptthrough pre-commercialization to market and is responsible for engaging withcustomer technical teams and focusing on formulation development using IMCD’sbroad ingredient portfolio. This includes various active delivery systems androutes of administration for solid dose immediate and modified release, liquidsuspension, and topical delivery among others. OtherTDM activities include presentation creation for internal and external trainingworkshops related to ingredient technology and formulation development and mayinclude using the extensive catalogue of supplier presentations. The TDM isencouraged to contribute to drafting articles, posters, and technical literature.The TDM engages with principal partners to review project pipelines andcoordinate customer joint visits. Reporting to Technical Director, NorthAmerica, the TDM will liaise with Principal Managers (PM) to ensure strategicinitiatives are coordinated and implemented with IMCD’s sales teams andcustomers. Successful candidates will be responsibleto:
Travelto customers’ research & development and manufacturing sites topromote, support, and encourage principals’ products and IMCD concept use.
Developand lead technical application discussions with customer technical andoperations groups as well as sales teams using the various technicalinformation tools available.
Routinelydemonstrate ability to understand customer core formulation initiativesand guide development and troubleshooting strategies.
Recommendformulation excipient and process selection, based on customer targets.
Organizetimely customer sample acquisition in cooperation with sales support,principal managers and/or principals.
Prepareand present technical information (oral and written) for both internal andexternal training seminars and workshops and product promotion events.
Coordinatetraining for sales teams and other personnel as required.
SupportIMCD technical resources, when appropriate, including the NJ PharmaTechnical Centre for purposes of customer support.
Collaboratewith Technical Marketing Team for coordinated promotion of new productsand initiatives.
PrepareKey Project reports, customer visit itineraries, and associated reports.
UseCRM software tools to create opportunities and tasks, respond toenquiries, update project database, and capture notes of key customer andprincipal interactions.
Liaisewith Principals’ technical counterparts to discuss customer projectactivities and coordinate joint technical meetings with customers.

Required Qualifications:
Degree in Industrial Pharmacy/Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical/nutraceutical laboratory or industrial pharmacy environment with an emphasis in formulation development in Oral/Topical dosage forms.
DesiredQualifications:
Anunderstanding of the nutraceutical development process is preferred.
Knowledgeof solid dosage form development and manufacturing major pharmaceutical ornutraceutical processes and formulation and manufacture of finished dosageforms.
Experiencegiving strong technical presentation skills at an academic or industryforum required.
Excellentoral and written communication skills required
Backgroundas a Pharmacist formulator or in similar product development backgroundpreferred
Strongability for customer interfacing exposure to customer interaction
Idealcandidate will possess commercial/business development as well astechnical abilities.
