Job summary

EMERGING BLUE, a NYC-based apparel company, seeks a hands-on Technical Designer to manage the development process from concept to production. You will work closely with Design, Production, and overseas factories to ensure fit, construction, measurements, and quality meet standards.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical design skills for women's apparel, including activewear, and be capable of solving fit and construction issues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Technical Design experience in women's apparel.
• Experience with activewear, athleisure, performance, stretch, or knit apparel is preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and creating detailed tech packs and spec sheets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain tech packs, spec sheets, POMs, construction details, and grading.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions, evaluate fit and construction.
• Measure samples and provide detailed fit comments and corrections.
• Collaborate with Design to translate concepts into production-ready garments.
• Communicate with overseas factories on technical and fit issues.
• Troubleshoot garment construction and production issues and drive solutions.
• Ensure consistency of fit, grading, and sizing across styles.
• Review samples through development stages and track timelines.
