Job summary

Gensler is seeking a Technical Designer to join the Critical Facilities studio in Las Vegas. You will explore design problems from concept through construction, collaborating with project teams to craft integrated solutions and communicate design intent using 3D renderings.

The role emphasizes Revit proficiency, architectural fundamentals, and a passion for sustainable practices. Prepare portfolio samples for consideration and contribute to a wide range of data center and mission‑critical

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture from a professionally accredited program.
  • 5-10 years of related architecture project experience.
  • Proficiency in Revit required, and experience utilizing other digital design tools beyond Revit.
  • Actively working towards licensure is a plus.
  • Interest in sustainable practices and certification (LEED, FitWell, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, creative, collaborative and independent work style across multiple projects.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, materials, specs, and construction techniques.
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Work with project teams through all phases: conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents and implementation.
  • Collaborate with design teams, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulators and vendors to meet project objectives.
  • Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction.
  • Develop and participate in internal and client presentations.
  • Participate in construction administration to ensure delivery of design intent.
  • Utilize 3D renderings to communicate concepts.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs.

Gensleris looking for a Technical Designer to join our growing Critical Facilities studio in our Las Vegas office. Our Critical Facilities practice is uniquely equipped to deliver high-performance data centers by drawing on expertise from across Gensler's diverse practice areas. We assemble specialized teams within our Critical Facilities group to design and execute data center projects that meet the complex needs of today's technology-driven organizations. This work sits at the intersection of architecture, infrastructure, and innovation – making it an exciting space for professionals who want to shape the future of digital environments. In addition to data centers, our team brings deep experience in mission‑critical environments such as research and supercomputing facilities, command and control centers, and SCIFs. What You Will Do
  • Work with project teams in all project phases, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, construction documents and implementation
  • Collaborate with the design team, clients, consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies and other vendors to meet overall project objectives
  • Produce accurate technical and contract documentation for construction of project
  • Develop and participate in internal and client presentations
  • Participate in the construction administration process ensuring the successful delivery of the design intent
  • Utilize 3D software renderings to communicate design concepts
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and learning programs
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from a professionally accredited program
  • 5-10 years of related architecture project experience
  • Proficiency in Revit required, and experience utilizing other digital design tools beyond Revit
  • Actively working towards achieving State licensure a plus
  • Passion for sustainable practices and interest in working towards certification (LEED, FitWell, etc.)
  • Organized, creative, collaborative, and independent with ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills to communicate design ideas
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques is preferred
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation is preferred
