Job summary

NELSON is seeking a Technical Designer II to join our Workplace Practice. This role focuses on project construction documentation, supporting the project team across administration, design development, and drawing production in all phases.

The Technical Designer II contributes to design development, prepares and updates design documents, and collaborates with the team to complete project deliverables in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting construction documentation and specifications.
• Ability to update design documents and incorporate redlines.
• Experience with field surveys and coordinating with project team.
• Proficient in producing drawings for consultants/clients/contractors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of construction documents and specifications
• Update design documents and incorporate “red lines” as needed
• Assist other team members while conducting field surveys as required
• Participate in the design process as directed
• Provide material, product, and system research and compile project data
• Order samples and create material boards
• Prepare Addenda and Bulletin documentation
• Maintain and update rack sets and projects records
• Plot/Prepare drawings for digital transmittance to consultants, clients and/or contractor
• Log Shop Drawings and assist in Shop Drawing comment translationFollow NELSON standards and guidelines in the preparation of deliverables

NELSON is currently seeking a Technical Designer II to join our Workplace Practice. The Technical Designer II is responsible for project construction documentation, working with the project team to assist overall efforts of completing various project phases. The Technical Designer II provides support primarily in project administration, design development, and drawing production in all phases.
