Job summary

Confidential is seeking a Technical Designer for our in-office team in New York. This full-time role focuses on accurate fit, construction, and specification measurements across newborn to size 16, collaborating with Design and Production to resolve sample issues in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in children’s wear, strong pattern-making knowledge, and proficiency with computer applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of Technical Design experience in children’s wear.
• Knowledge of Boys’ and Girls’ sizing, Infant through Size 16.
• Strong understanding of pattern-making and garment construction.
• Proficient in computer applications; PLM and 3D virtual fitting a plus.
• Strong organizational and communication skills; Associate Degree in Apparel.

Responsibilities

• Measure fit and PP samples to ensure accurate construction and specifications.
• Collaborate with Design and Production teams to resolve sample approvals promptly.
• Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding fit, construction, and approvals.

About the Company:

We are an established importer of children’s apparel, specializing in licensed brands and private label collections. Our product range includes Boys’ and Girls’ apparel from newborn through size 16. This opportunity is within our Technical Design Department and is a full-time, in-office position.

Responsibilities:

• Measure all fit and PP samples to ensure accurate construction and specification measurements
• Collaborate closely with the Design and Production teams to resolve sample approval issues in a timely manner
• Communicate daily with overseas vendors regarding fit, construction, and approvals

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of Technical Design experience in children’s wear
• Knowledge of Boys’ and Girls’ sizing, ranging from Infant through Size 16
