Job summary

Responsibilities

• Attend development hand-off meetings to ensure all technical design requirements are addressed.
• Pre-project research to follow licensor specifications, testing requirements, labeling and other design elements.
• Identify problem items early in the spec development phase for corrective action.
• Oversee the technical design process from initial development for a broad classification of product.
• Manage sample evaluations, size grading, and correcting fit issues.
• Coordinate production orders and revisions with factories; prioritize orders.
• Support the graphic design team in relation to product development presentations.
• Ensure trademark and copyright information is affixed to merchandise.
• Create and generate presentation materials for licensors, management and sales staff.
• Respond to RFQs and product development inquiries.
• Coordinate samples and work directly with factories to monitor preproduction.

Job description

The Technical Designe provides overall support and coordination of initiatives and performs various functions in conjunction with the organization and manufacture of new products with licensors, manufacturing and sales. Develops the process of standardizing the piece, communicates with vendors/factories for acquiring samples, specs and other needed information or documentation. Works with vendors to acquire specification approvals and to ensure speedy answers to all specification questions.

• Attends development hand-off meetings and is responsible to determine all technical design related requirements are addressed for all products.
• Pre-project research to comprehend and follow licensor specifications, testing requirements, labeling and other pertinent technical design elements.
• Identifies problem items early in the spec development phase so that corrective action can be taken prior to problems occurring.
• Responsible for the technical design process from initial development for a broad classification of product.
• Responsible for sample evaluations, size grading process, and correcting fit issues.
• Manages workflow, prioritizing, consistent follow through with factories on production orders and revisions.
• Prioritize and processes orders for production as submitted via the sales team.
• Provides support to the graphic design team in conjunction with the presentation in relation to product development.
• Ensures trademark and copyright information is accurately affixed to merchandise
• Creates and generates presentation materials for licensors, management and sales staff
• Responds to internal/external inquiries for RFQs and product development.
• Coordinates samples and works directly with factory to monitor preproduction.
