An Intermediate Technical Designer is required for a commercial interiors and architecture role in San Francisco. This position is suited to a technically strong designer who can translate design intent into coordinated, code-compliant and buildable documentation across multiple project phases.
The Intermediate Technical Designer will work closely with project designers, consultants, contractors, fabricators and internal teams to produce high-quality Construction Documents, support technical coordination, contribute to QA/QC reviews and assist with approvals, permitting and construction administration.

The Intermediate Technical Designer / Technical Designer / Interior Technical Designer Role:
- Develop and coordinate Construction Documents, including plans, elevations, reflected ceiling and lighting plans, power and signal plans, detailing and related documentation
- Work with project designers to refine technical, buildable solutions that support the overall design intent
- Research, recommend and specify suitable materials, finishes, fixtures, equipment, hardware and related components
- Coordinate technical systems within project documentation, including A/V, lighting, power, data, MEP and acoustics
- Participate in QA/QC reviews to support documentation quality, Revit modelling standards and cross-discipline coordination
- Conduct field surveys, review existing conditions and support code-compliance checks across low-, mid- and high-rise buildings
- Assist with agency coordination, approvals, permitting processes, submittal reviews, RFIs, site visits and field observation reports
- Support mentoring, team coordination and the management of smaller project scopes or workstreams
Intermediate Technical Designer / Technical Designer / Interior Technical Designer Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interior Design, Architecture or a related discipline
- 4-8 years of professional experience across interior design and/or architectural projects
- Experience developing coordinated Construction Documents for commercial interiors
- Strong Autodesk Revit and Enscape skills
- Strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
- Office 365, Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
- Knowledge of interior architectural documentation, detailing, materials, specifications, building systems and constructability
- Working knowledge of state and local building and fire codes relating to interior environments, including accessibility
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available for this role
- Workplace or commercial interior project experience
- Working toward professional licensure or accreditation
- WELL, LEED or other sustainability accreditation
- Hands-on LEED and/or WELL project participation
- Experience working in a Citrix environment
- Experience using Mural
- Hand sketching and conceptual drawing skills
