Job summary

Weaver Apparel LLC in New York City is seeking a highly organized Technical Designer — Women’s Apparel to join our on-site team.

The Technical Designer will own the technical design process from development through final fit approval, translating design concepts into production-ready garments that meet our fit, construction, quality, and brand standards. You’ll collaborate with design, product development, and overseas factories to manage samples and provide detailed fit feedback.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Technical Design experience, preferably in women’s apparel.
• Strong technical design skills, including developing and maintaining tech packs, specifications, measurement charts, and fit comments.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, fitting, and grading.
• Pattern-making knowledge is required, including the ability to evaluate and recommend pattern adjustments.
• Deep understanding of cut-and-sew and woven apparel.
• Experience working across women’s apparel categories such as dresses, tops, bottoms, wovens, and knits.
• Experience working directly with overseas factories and vendors.
• Ability to balance aesthetics, fit, function, quality, manufacturability, and cost.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, or other technical design tools is a plus.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for working across internal teams and international factory partners.
• Education in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Production, or a related discipline is preferred; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.

Role Description

Weaver Apparel is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Designer — Women’s Apparel to join our New York City team.

The Technical Designer will be responsible for the technical design process from initial development through final fit approval, translating design concepts into production-ready garments that meet our fit, construction, quality, and brand standards.

You’ll collaborate closely with our design and product development teams and overseas factory partners to manage samples, evaluate garment construction, provide detailed fit and construction feedback, and ensure every style maintains its creative integrity while being optimized for production.

This is a full-time, on-site position ideal for someone with strong technical design and production experience and a deep understanding of cut-and-sew and woven apparel.
