Job summary

Orion Innovation seeks an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead end-to-end data engineering and application development initiatives. You will guide daily sprint activities, collaborate with stakeholders, architects, and product owners to ensure high-quality delivery.

The role requires hands-on management of sprint plans, risk mitigation, and cross-functional coordination across distributed teams, with emphasis on Agile execution and customer engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.
• 10+ years of technology delivery experience; at least 4 years in a technical delivery or program management role.
• Proven leadership of Agile teams and multiple concurrent workstreams.
• Strong requirements analysis, backlog management, user-story development, estimation, and sprint execution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer-management and stakeholder-engagement capabilities.
• Proven ability to manage priorities, dependencies, risks, and escalations in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day delivery across data engineering, application development, APIs, analytics, and reporting initiatives.
• Manage Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives.
• Develop and maintain sprint plans, delivery schedules, dependencies, risks, issues, and resource assignments.
• Track tasks and user stories in Jira with clear ownership, acceptance criteria, estimates and timely completion.
• Work with customers and business stakeholders to translate requirements into well-defined features and user stories.
• Partner with architects and engineering teams to validate solution approaches, estimates and implementation plans.
• Monitor delivery progress, identify delays, and drive timely resolution of blockers.
• Ensure teams meet commitments related to scope, schedule, quality, and performance.
• Provide clear status reports to customer and leadership, coordinating across distributed teams.
• Support release planning, testing, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes and engineering practices.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Manager to lead the end-to-end delivery of data engineering and application development initiatives. This role requires a strong combination of technical expertise, delivery management, Agile execution, and customer engagement.

• Provide clear and concise status reporting to customer and internal leadership.
• Coordinate across geographically distributed and cross-functional teams.
• Support release planning, testing, deployment, and production-readiness activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in delivery processes, engineering practices, and team productivity.

Required Technical Experience

• Strong understanding of data engineering concepts, including data ingestion, transformation, integration, data pipelines, and analytics.
• Working knowledge of:

• Ability to understand solution architecture, technical designs, data flows, integration patterns, and non-functional requirements.

• Ability to engage in technical discussions, challenge assumptions, identify risks, and facilitate decisions.

Required Qualifications

• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, security, and production support.
• Experience working in consulting or customer-facing delivery environments.
