Job summary

AfterQuery is seeking a contract Technical Content Writer to shape our voice across public-facing written content. You’ll work with our marketing team, founders, and researchers to turn ideas, technical developments, and company updates into clear, compelling writing.

You’ll write for audiences ranging from AI researchers to industry experts, spanning social media, blogs, and announcements. This remote, US-based role starts at 10–15 hours per week with a six-month contract and $60/hour pay.

Qualifications

• Experience writing content for an AI, software, data infrastructure, or other technical organization.
• Working understanding of AI and machine learning, with the ability to research unfamiliar topics and explain technical concepts accurately.
• Strong writing and editing skills across social media, long-form articles, and company communications.
• Ability to adapt between founder, brand, and contributor voices and write for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• A portfolio demonstrating clear thinking, strong storytelling, and attention to detail.
• Ability to turn briefs, conversations, and source material into polished drafts while managing a part-time workload independently.

Responsibilities

• Write and adapt content for AfterQuery’s brand and founder social media accounts, including X and LinkedIn, maintaining a distinct and consistent voice for each
• Develop technical and non-technical blog posts covering research, industry perspectives, company updates, and stories from our team and expert community
• Turn research papers, technical findings, and conversations with subject‑matter experts into accurate, accessible content
• Draft founder thought leadership, hiring posts, announcements, and other public‑facing written materials
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather input, refine messaging, and incorporate feedback
• Repurpose ideas across channels, adapting the tone, depth, and format to each audience
• Verify claims and sources, maintain editorial quality, and manage agreed content priorities and deadlines

Technical Content Writer (Contract)

Location: Remote, US-based

Commitment: Approximately 10–15 hours per week to start, with potential to expand based on content needs. Weekly deliverables will be prioritized together across social media, blog posts, and other public-facing content.

Overview

We’re looking for a contract Technical Content Writer to help shape AfterQuery’s voice across our public-facing written content. You’ll communicate our work as a research lab curating human data for AI through social media, founder content, blog articles, and other company communications.

You’ll work closely with our marketing team, founders, and researchers to turn ideas, technical developments, and company updates into clear, compelling writing. This role spans technical and non-technical content, with audiences ranging from AI researchers and top labs to experts and prospective hires.

Responsibilities

• Write and adapt content for AfterQuery’s brand and founder social media accounts, including X and LinkedIn, maintaining a distinct and consistent voice for each
