Apple is seeking a Technical Compliance Lead to drive privacy programs across Product Design and Marketing. You will partner with Privacy Engineering, Privacy Legal, and cross-functional teams to implement privacy-by-design in global marketing workflows affecting millions of users.

The role requires deep knowledge of DMA, GDPR, CCPA, and hands-on ability to translate complex regulations into auditable programs, data mappings, and risk assessments while enabling innovative marketing experiences.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience managing complex privacy/security programs.
  • Solid understanding of global privacy laws and their technical implications.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27701, NIST Privacy Framework, or PIAs.

You willpartner closely with Privacy Engineering, Privacy Legal, and our Services productteams to ensure we use best-in-class privacy practices, features, andcompliance guidelines when launching experiences globally.This role requires someone who is fluent in privacy principles, technically savvy,and able to lead programs that reduce risk while enabling innovation. You'll alsopartner with cross-functional global teams — including Central MarketingOperations — to help drive operational efficiency in how privacy requirements areimplemented in marketing workflows. Your efforts will impact platforms touchingmillions of customers and developers worldwide.

Description

As a Technical Compliance Lead, you'll build and support a privacy complianceprogram for our Product Design and Marketing teams, serving as the programlead for privacy-by-design implementation. You'll partner closely with — and beclosely advised by — multiple legal teams, while driving execution acrossProduct, Design, and Marketing.You'll tackle novel problems, manage multiple projects with varying levels ofurgency and impact, and research, experiment, and collaborate on new solutions.Successful candidates are passionate about privacy, can work throughambiguous problems independently, and enjoy context-switching betweenprojects. Strong candidates also have a track record of driving complexregulatory work that requires input and prioritization across multipleorganizations.

Responsibilities
  • Translate legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., DMA, GDPR, CCPA) into actionable, business-facing programs that are auditable and sustainable
  • Define and drive compliance requirements, including data mapping, risk assessments, and incident preparedness
  • Monitor evolving privacy and compliance regulations and ensure technical controls meet or exceed compliance expectations
  • Support internal audits and external assessments by organizing and communicating technical privacy safeguards
  • Develop training and enablement materials to help Product, Design, and Marketing teams operationalize privacy requirements
  • Partner with Central Marketing Operations to build scalable, privacy-compliant marketing workflows
Minimum Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience managing complex programs in privacy, security, or data governance
  • Strong understanding of global privacy laws and their technical implications (e.g., data minimization, purpose limitation, encryption, access control)
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as ISO 27701, NIST Privacy Framework, or privacy impact assessments (PIAs)
  • Technical fluency — able to engage with engineers and understand systems architecture, even without writing code
  • Working knowledge of SQL or similar tools to support data mapping and risk assessments
  • Experience leading projects involving AI/ML integration into automated marketing messaging and consumer-facing applications
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments with product, engineering, legal, and compliance stakeholders
  • Experience partnering with privacy and legal teams to evaluate global data usage
  • Flexibility to manage rapidly changing, time-constrained schedules
  • Experience working across different global cultures a plus
  • Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of management
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to partner effectively and influence stakeholders
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • B.S./M.S. in a relevant or quantitative discipline: Engineering, Computer
  • Science, Operations Research, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and/or Economics
  • Privacy certifications such as CIPT, CIPP/US, or CISM
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $168,800 and $281,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
