Job summary

Austin Community College District seeks a faculty member to teach Technical Communications courses in person and online, delivering engaging, discipline-appropriate instruction to a diverse student population and emphasizing student success. The appointment begins Fall 2027 and may require evening or weekend classes at multiple campus locations.

Responsibilities include preparing curricula, assessing student learning outcomes, participating in governance, and mentoring students as they develop

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Technical Communications, English, Educational Technology & Instructional Design, or Information Studies; or an Associate degree in Technical Communications with three years non-teaching work experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and teach Technical Communications courses to a multicultural student population using diverse instructional strategies and current software/tech.
• Participate in curriculum review, program assessment, and departmental governance.
• Evaluate student progress and provide timely feedback aligned with learning outcomes.
• Maintain regular office hours and assist students with campus resources in an inclusive, non-discriminatory manner.
